Don't miss the celebration throughout downtown Boise November 24th thru December 24th for Christmas in the City. All the fun starts November 24th. The Egyptian Theatre will be filled with the sounds of Christmas when Opera Idaho, accompanied by the Opera Idaho Children's Chorus "Sings Christmas". Don't miss this fantastic holiday event. Then be sure to hit the Christmas Show this weekend. Let the kids sit on Santa's lap and shop for that one of a kind present, all starts December 1st and goes thru the 3rd at Expo Idaho. Celebrate the holidays with free admission to Zoo Boise and great shopping opportunities at the Zootique Gift Shop. Treasure Valley Sports

It's all but official; the Boise State Broncos will be going to a BCS bowl game for the first time in school history. Want to hear the official announcement and invitation live? Then head down to Taco Bell Arena on Sunday, December 3rd, the announcement takes place at 5:30 so be there early to get a good seat and enjoy the BCS invite party! For more information, visit www.broncosports.com. The 2006 Idaho Steelheads season has begun and there's no shortage of hockey this holiday season! Go have some fun while supporting our team and check out the Steelies as they battle the LasVegas Wranglers on December 1st and 2nd. The Steelheads return home on the 6th to play the Phoenix Roadrunners, and again on the 7th and 9th. Be sure to catch them one more time this year as they take on the Bakersfield Condors on December 28th, 29th and 30th. Go Steelheads!

2006 Economic Wrap-Up

With the labor market remaining healthy, unemployment at an all time low in the Treasure Valley and the local housing market rallying against national trends, the year is wrapping up strong and the forecast for 2007 is just as good! Canyon County will soon be able to experience some new shopping fun with an Old Navy, Petco and Michaels Craft Store scheduled to open before the end of the year and a Whole Foods is on the horizon for Boise in 2007! Manufacturing, Industry and Production is all on the rise and coupled with an inviting climate, low cost of living and favorable land prices, Treasure Valley growth shows no signs of slowing down!
