"I have a positive feeling about the economic outlook for 2005, our company saw unprecedented growth in 2004 and 2005 is off to a fantastic start," said Drew McDaniel, General Manager for Precision Panel Structures. This attitude sure seems to be the consensus, according to many business professionals and owners throughout the Treasure Valley. The Treasure Valley is an attractive place for many who wish to leave the larger cities and come to a place where the quality of life is better, and there is plenty of opportunity to boot! Passenger volumes at the Boise Airport are already up .5% over this time last year, and last year passenger volume rose 6% - a sure sign of growth! Boise's vitality and growth is also evident in the projected developments and various business types expected to pop up throughout 2005. Five Star Films is expected to open in 1,547 square feet of space, leased in Bown Crossing's northeast building. Four projects have been completed in the mixed-use project in Southeast Boise. Five Star Films will have a library of books on film and seating areas for people to read film magazines. "Boise is an amazing town and there's lots of opportunity for people like me to start something like this," said owner Brent Hobbs. Steel erection has started for two buildings in the BoDo project downtown. Construction started for what are to be the Sycamore Building and the Gateway Building. In addition, construction of an 11-story combination-parking garage and a Hampton Inn and Suites will soon be underway. More projected developments in the Treasure Valley include an Office-Showroom complex on a 10-acre site near the Optimist Park in Eagle, and construction of the highly anticipated Gateway Center in Canyon County (directly off I-84 Garrity Exit) will begin soon. The Gateway Center is said to consist of two major anchor stores (still to be decided), and mixed-use, office, retail and food sites. The large retail/office park is expected to bring 1500 jobs.
