June's Economic Outlook

With a resurgence expected in tourism, bare land valuations soaring and continued development in and around the Boise area, the Treasure Valley economy is maintaining momentum and expectations this month are positive and high. Furthermore, Boise has finally received some well deserved recognition. Forbes Magazine recently ranked Boise #2 in its "Best Places for Business and Careers" analysis. In this 5th survey, Forbes kept a careful eye on income and job growth. However, they also focused on the cost of doing business, which included prices of labor, energy, taxes and office space. For the first time these rankings also characterized the "attractiveness of a region" by factoring in crime rates, housing costs, and net migration. Boise was ranked number 2 in a list of cities that included: Austin, TX, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Washington DC, and Raleigh-Durham, NC.
