"Treasure Valley Engineers seem cheerfully optimistic about their prospects for 2005." There are several projects that are keeping firms busy. Amy Dockter, a project electrical engineer and associate stockholder for CSHQA said her firm is working on a number of projects, including one at Mountain Home Air Force Base. It's not only engineers that are optimistic about 2005, but other industry sectors seem to have plenty going on as well. Construction on 314 acre site in Star is projected for this summer or early fall. Heron River Community LLC, Boise, plans the development on the current Dudley River Ranch Property. The project will consist of 587 home lots, 9 commercial lots and considerable open space. Construction on the Highlands Village project will begin next month. The development on the east side of Bogus Basin Road just north of Hill Rd. will consist of 41 condos in 13 buildings, three-story row houses, condo flats, and patio homes. "The project is built to be an urban-infill village, where people come home, park their car and don't have to drive any more," said developer Bill Hodges; president of Boise based Western Realty Advisors Inc. Further new developments include the expansion of AFG Glass in Nampa. AFG cuts glass and fabricates other aluminum products. They have moved into the old Aluma Glass building that includes 32,000 square ft. of warehousing and manufacturing space. They plan to add 25 jobs to their current crew of 24. And, Englefield Greens, a $40 million complex, containing medical offices, senior-care centers and townhomes is planned for a 40-acre site in West Boise. Development Company, Vision First LLC "sees rising demand for townhomes among 55 and older." Plans call for nine office buildings from 2500 to 6000 square feet and 84 single-level townhomes from 1,300 to 1,700 square feet. The development should bring approximately 50 new jobs to Boise.
