The unique combination of stunning natural surroundings, competitive and stable business costs and a diverse economy make the Treasure Valley a place where businesses thrive. Forbes magazine recently rated Boise #2 For Business Opportunities and Careers. And in a recent book written by the publisher of Forbes Magazine, Boise was rated #8 in a study done on lavish, but relatively cheap places to live. In addition, the Boise Metro Area is nationally recognized as a great place to grow and start a business. Per Capita, Idaho ranks #1 in U.S. patents, #5 in new companies and 11th in technology jobs. Idaho's economy in general is expected to show decent job creation, up 2.4 percent, according to the state's latest quarterly forecast. And from up and coming coffee shops (JAVA) in Boise's historic North End to Wal-Mart and Sam's Club in Canyon County and corp. HQ for Micron Technology, Washington Group International, Hewlett Packard, the treasure valley's growth and economic opportunities have been strong, and this month looks no different.
