Treasure Valley Sports

The Boise State Broncos have been RECHARGED after the recent trampling of Bowling Green and it looks as though a 2nd WAC Championship may be on the horizon! Boy do we love our Broncos! The broncos have plenty of home games this month, so let's get out there and support our favorite hometown team. The Broncos play on the blue Saturday, October 8th against Portland State, kick-off is at 6:05pm, they are home again on the 15th against San Jose State, kick-off is also at 6:05pm and then one more time this month for a sure to be exciting game against the Nevada Wolf Pack, October 29th with an afternoon kick-off at 1:05pm. The Broncos are sure to have us on the edge of our seats once again this season!

October's Economic Outlook

Boise has certainly been vibrating prosperity and abundance for quite some time, and with all that is happening in the community this month, that doesn't seem to be changing! Whether it be the sudden BOOM in the upscale housing market or the tremendous amount of new developments and firms rising up in the valley, Boise is certainly a place to be reckoned with. Transpo, an engineering transportation planning group just opened an office in Boise. The Transpo group has been in business for about 30 years, offering transportation planning and engineering services to clients such as W&H Pacific, ACHD, City of Hailey, etc. The group occupies 700 square feet of executive office space, where they plan to add 5-6 new staff members. The city of Star, which was reincorporated as a city only eight years ago, is "playing a starring role in the Treasure Valley residential building permits this year." Star is on track to break a 500-permit mark for the 2005 fiscal year. Wow, GO STAR! "Growing demand for tortillas is leading Boise based Mission Foods to double the size of its Idaho distribution center," said Sales Manager Don Carter. Mission Foods will move from its 7500 square foot facility to a new 14,000 square foot facility in the Victory Business Center on Victory Road, west of Cole Road. Sales for Mission have gone up 15% in the last year and the company projects that growth to continue for the next five years. Ashley Heating and Air Conditioning will also more than triple its operating space when it moves to West Boise. "We've just been growing and growing," said spokesperson DeeDee Ashley. Ashley Heating and Air Conditioning employs 52 on Chinden Blvd in Garden City. Wow, if all of that wasn't enough, the Treasure Valley is leading the nation in New Construction employment, with jobs up 16%. All of this makes one wonder how Boise will top this next month, but we know we will! What a GREAT place to live.
